Dear sleep-well friends,
Unfortunately, my 5-year-old daughter broke her femur bone at school last week, and she will be hospitalized for 4-6 weeks. It’s incredibly tough for us as we also have a six-month-old baby who doesn’t like the hospital at all.
My 5-year-old is receiving ‘skin traction’ treatment, which means her left leg is pulled by a piece of string attached to a weight so that the bones can realign in the correct position. It’s not invasive, but the downside is that she will be stuck in bed in one position for 4-6 weeks.
It’s only a few days, but taking care of her feels like taking care of a disabled person with ADHD, and seeing her scream at every move and feeling her get lighter after every cleanup pains me. Pain management is one thing, but entertainment and keeping good hygiene while stationary for weeks are equally challenging.
Life is like that; I accept it, and that’s why I built the Sleep Well Portfolio.
One day, I’ll be in this position again, or you might be (and I hope you don’t)—totally out of control—but I can honestly say the selection of stocks we have in the portfolio right now will do great without me looking at it for months.
I was due to send out a new pick, but I will now delay it for another 1-2 weeks until I can review it thoroughly. As my daughter heals a bit more, she will be in less pain, and I can turn my attention to update you again.
Good luck to you all,
Trung

I suffered the same when I was a kid. It's not nice. Her body is unable to be active, but her brain is still active. Keep exercising it. Keep her occupied and entertained, she'll get through it and emerge stronger. Read with her. Times-tables. Quizzes. Anything challenging to occupy her mind and to take her mind off her plight. I recommend a great book called "The Number Devil" by Hans Magnus Enzensberger (don't worry, it's in English). It's really fun and the kids learn from it. After 4-6 weeks she'll at least be academically stronger! At that age, her physical strength will return quickly. I wish her and the rest of your family well.
Wishing her a speedy recovery, Trung!
